Dr. Olivier Carcuac

Dr. Olivier is a highly accomplished specialist periodontist with over 25 years of experience working in France, Sweden, and the UAE.

He has a special interest in minimal invasive microsurgery, aesthetic periodontal plastic surgery, and aesthetic implant dentistry.

He received his dental degree from University Paul Sabatier, France, in 1997. Following a full-time three-year specialist training in Periodontics in Stockholm, Sweden, Dr. Olivier earned his postgraduate degree in Periodontics in 2008.

Pursuing further training, he earned his PhD in Periodontics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2015. In 2020, he received his Certificate in Biostatistics from the University of Stanford’s Online Program based in California, USA.

Dr. Olivier currently serves as an associate researcher at the Department of Periodontology of University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where he is also involved in the education program for under- and postgraduate students. He is member of the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research and serves as a referee in several other scientific dental journals.

He has produced several scientific publications within the field of dental implants and periodontology and he frequently lectures in prestigious dental congresses around the globe.

In 2011, Dr. Olivier co-authored the award-winning iPad application “iMuco-gingival recessions” and became Key Opinion Leader for Hu-Friedy. In 2014, he was awarded the DG Paro Innovation Award by the German Society of Periodontology. In 2019, he developed an innovative surgical approach for treatment of gingival recession defects at lower anterior teeth, scientifically approved and published in 2021 and 2022.

Dr. Olivier is a member of the European Federation of Periodontology, the ITI International Team for Implantology, the Swedish Society of Periodontology, the Scandinavian Society of Periodontology, and the Swedish Dental Association.
